What I am Reading
My current book is “Keep Quite” by Lisa Scottoline. The storyline is about a father who let his son drive illegally when the son hits and kills a high school girl jogging. They leave her for dead because the father doesn’t want his son to get in legal trouble. It’s a nightmare. They are trying to keep it a secret, but of course, it’s never a secret. I am interested in how the book will end. My theory has always been, it’s just best to come clean and tell the truth. Will see if that’s the ending lesson.
What I am Learning
erdI just completed my “30 Days of MN Ag” challenge where I featured a farmer daily during the month of December. I have learned that every farmer has a story to tell. We all farm differently but we all share the same passion for what we do. You have to. Farming is hard and if you don’t have passion, you will be done in a heartbeat.
What I am Watching
Well, it’s December. I am binge watching Christmas movies. You name it, I will watch it. Bring it on! Unfortunately, living in a rural area, we don’t have much for movie theater offerings so I haven’t watched a movie in the local theater in quite a while. But the Hallmark and Lifetime channels of never-ending Christmas movies will suffice!
What I am Listening
I really like listening to Podcasts especially when I am driving a long distance. The main ones I listen to are about social media. I love the ProBlogger Podcast with Darren Rowse. I am also listening to Christmas music. I make a deal with myself that I only listen to Christmas music between Thanksgiving and Christmas. And . . . I will be attending a Trans-Siberian Orchestra and HomeFree Concert during this month. So excited!
What I am Sharing
I am sharing my knowledge and experience. I will be attending AgChat later this week. AgChat will be held in Kansas City December 8-9 and is where agriculture professionals learn about social media tools and network with others across the country. I have the privilege of presenting a breakout session on “The Do’s and Don’ts of Farm-To-Table” events. So looking forward to it! I will also be sharing some hams this month to a deserving person(s). It’s part of the #RealPigFarming campaign called #HamsAcrossAmerica. I am in the process of deciding who I want to donate a ham to.
I am sharing my kindness. With the nastiness of the past election, this world needs more kindness! These will be random acts of kindness and in addition, I will be participating in the #HamsAcrossAmerica campaign where I will be giving a ham to people in my community who I feel deserve it.
I would love to hear what you are reading, learning, watching, listening to or sharing. Do you have any recommendations?
